He’s a “Boom Chucker” having trained under Bob McQuillen, a member of Trip to Nelson, and a regular (for the last 4 years) at the Monday Night Nelson dance. Paul Lizotte is currently the Fiddler for the Contra Dance Band Jumpstart. He’s played dances throughout New England, and is a regular at Manchester’s Mill City Dance. Joe Pollock on mandolin, banjo and guitar, is a regular contra dance performer hailing from Milford, and can be heard on Amy Conley’s recording I Sing Every Day. Calling will be Sandy LaFleur from Amherst. She’s called dances throughout the Northeast, and also play’s Appalachian dulcimer, guitar, & bodhran.

The first dance was a success, with folks asking for another dance next month, and asking the band and caller back again. We had lots of families (and beginners) taking advantage of the FREE hour of family and beginners dancing most of them from Temple. That's one of our goals, to get more local folks involved.

And it was great to see the regulars from the area dances come put to support the new Temple dance. We hope this is the restart of an old tradition of Temple Dances, that will stay a renewed Tradition for many more years to come.

More photos from the first dance can be seen here.
